Pour-Over Provisions
What is it?
Pour-over provisions work with a pour-over will to catch any assets that weren't transferred to the trust during your lifetime. The will "pours" these assets into the trust at death.
Why is it important?
Even with careful planning, some assets may be overlooked or acquired shortly before death. Pour-over provisions ensure everything ends up in your trust and is distributed according to your wishes.
Example Language
I give all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to the Trustee of the [Trust Name], to be added to the trust estate and distributed in accordance with its terms.
